Time Data Recording

While real-time analysis provides the ultimate data acquisition solution for many measurement situations, there are many applications with a need for time data acquisition and post-processing. Even with the continuing increases in computing power, it is not always practical to perform analyses in realtime due to the simultaneous increase in the number of required measurement channels.

In addition troubleshooting, by definition, often implies that the exact nature of the problem is unknown. This can lead to missed information in the measurement results due to assumptions made when setting up the analyzer. Recording time data and then post-processing the results allows you to postpone the decision of the analysis parameters to be used.

Often the time data acquisition system is fully employed in recording data and the data is transferred to another computer or a server for post-processing and analysis. The new PULSE Data Recorder provides the flexibility and economy of recording and analysis software on separate computers or combining them on one system as a Measurement and Analysis Workstation.

The flexibility of the PULSE LAN-XI hardware platform allows the configuration of any recording solution from 1 to hundreds of channels, mobile or lab-based. Powered over Ethernet, Battery operated, DC or AC powered options on most solutions combined with LAN connection to the host PC provide the maximum efficiency in test setup time.

The intuitive user interface makes selection between advanced recording modes like continous recording, triggered recording or cyclic recording just as quick and easy as starting and stopping the recorder. A wide variety of built-in export formats ensures that recorded data can not only be analysed with the Brüel & Kjær analysis tools but easily be adapted to other analysis systems.

Post-processing can be performed on raw time histories, analyzing them as though they were realtime inputs, or through the advanced post processing tool PULSE Reflex that allows easy data selection across multiple recording using metadata or measurement parameters.
