In the last year, we have seen increasingly larger systems being sold, prompting us to push the limits on number of channels supported and throughput.
The general performance of our post-processing platform, PULSE Reflex, has also been drastically improved, with the time used for many functions cut in half. Ease-of-use improvements range from a LAN-XI connection troubleshooter to significant improvements in PULSE Reflex Core. With all these exciting new developments, we trust that you can enjoy the worldwide success of the mature and proven PULSE platform.
In addition to simplification of the platform, this latest version supports the following new application software and functionality, focusing on applications and usability for key market areas, including wind turbine applications. Scroll down to see more about our new applications, which include:
For the automotive market, we are excited to present our indoor pass-by noise and exterior noise contribution analysis solution. We also have Source Path Contribution (SPC) with Time Insight, and the Exterior Sound Simulator software.
Meanwhile for consumer goods developers, we have a sound power tool to ease the process of fulfilling the latest EU noise labelling requirements.
Within structural testing applications, we offer new possibilities for integrating testing and Finite Element Models.

PULSE Indoor Pass-by and Exterior Contribution Analysis
Using SPC technology, this exciting new product determines the contributions of individual noise sources to exterior receivers, easily highlighting the dominating source for a given receiver. Critically, it is very easy to use and fast, and ideal for technicians to perform tests and then take data to be analysed by engineers later.
This analysis can help all vehicle manufacturers identify the main pass-by noise sources, listen to the individual contributions, reduce contribution from particular sources, and see how it affects the total result. For example, each engine face, the intake orifice and the exhaust orifice, can be taken as one source each. Transfer functions then calculate the sound field for all the different receiver positions. Using many receivers, an indoor pass-by assessment is possible. By combining conventional testing of indoor pass-by noise inside a test lab with the possibility to quantify the contribution of individual sources at the 7.5 m ISO microphone position, the indoor pass-by noise measurement is currently being discussed as a conformal test of pass-by emission noise, which complies with ISO 362. |

PULSE Source Path Contribution – Time Insight
Allows you to listen to your SPC results, turn paths on and off, listen over a time or RPM range, compare different sets of results back-to-back, or apply filters. Easily create 'what-if' scenarios, and listen to what the product could sound like if certain modifications were made.
PULSE Sound Power
Updated with the latest standards such as ISO 3744 and IEC 60704-2-4, ensuring that manufacturers of items such as washing machines are able to live up to the new EU Energy Labelling Directive.

PULSE Array Acoustics Suite
A new calculation option called ‘refined beamforming’ improves the spatial resolution of noise maps by up to a factor of three for measurement in scenarios such as inside wind tunnels, on wind turbines and on trains.
PULSE Exterior Sound Simulator
A new module for the Desktop NVH Simulator suite used for auralising the exterior sound that would be experienced by a pedestrian. Useful for design and evaluation of sounds for Quiet Vehicles (electric, hybrid, etc.) and tuning of the exterior sound quality of internal combustion engine vehicles. Structural testing and analysis
Test-FEA Integration
The PULSE Reflex Structural Dynamics suite now supports Test-FEA integration including interfaces for importing Nastran®, Ansys® and UFF Finite Element models. In addition, a new PULSE Reflex Correlation Analysis package allows powerful correlation of Test and FE models.
Classical Modal Analysis
FE models can be imported into PULSE Reflex Modal Analysis - or PULSE Reflex Correlation Analysis - and easily decimated to test models for use in programs such as PULSE Modal Test Consultant. Additional mode shape scaling methods have been introduced in PULSE Reflex Modal Analysis.

Operational Modal Analysis
New SSI algorithms significantly improve calculation speed and minimise project sizes in PULSE Operational Modal Analysis. A new batch processing option makes it possible to perform SSI analysis on a large number of time data without user interaction.
Operating Deflection Shapes Analysis
Test setup time can now be significantly reduced for large test setups by pre-defining DOFs in a file using the ‘.csv’ format. During file import, the DOFs are automatically added to the geometry and linked to the hardware and transducers using the transducers’ serial numbers.

PULSE Reflex Core
Ease of use and performance get a significant boost including optimised reporting, with full access to all meta-data captured in both displaying and reporting. Performance is significantly enhanced, cutting time spent for some functions by half.
PULSE Reflex Advanced Processing
With the addition of the Advanced Processing option for PULSE Reflex Core, it is now possible to easily perform sophisticated statistical and mathematical functions on multiple measurements simultaneously, for example, for run averaging. Advanced functions like an interactive order slice spectrogram enable sophisticated analysis of data.
PULSE Reflex Advanced Order Analysis
With this option for PULSE Reflex Basic Order Analysis, it is possible to extract tracked orders from accurate RPM values, giving access to a full set of advanced order-tracking tools.
