Description
Bruel & Kjaer have revised the Environmental Noise Training Course to better accommodate the needs of our clients and include the requirements of individual State legislation pertaining to environmental noise. The program consists of 2 days. Day 1 concentrates on Noise Awareness and is suitable for anyone wanting to learn more about Environmental Nosie, its effects and a brief understanding of how it is measured. Day 2 concentrates in-depth on noise assessment, monitoring and management. It would be expected that a person who attends Day 2 would have already completed Day 1 - Noise Awareness training course.
Day 1 - Noise Awareness (Occupational & Environmental)
Day 2 - Environmental Noise Monitoring & Management
This day will build on the information presented in Day 1 and is aimed at people who have carried out , or who are intending to carry out environmental noise surveys or assessments for both statutory agencies and private organisations. Attendees will gain the practical in-depth knowledge and confidence to survey environmental noise and learn noise control techniques to meet legislative requirements. In the workshop the attendees will use sound level meters to measure a range of noise scenarios. The courses are tailored to meet individual state legislative requirements.
Material that will be covered in the course includes:
- Noise surveys in accordance with AS 1055-1997
- Noise measurement equipment - when to use what
- Recognising limitations and measurement uncertainty
- Evaluation of measurement results, uncluding tonality and impulsiveness
- Noise Control Principles
- Practical sessions on noise measurement
- Introduction to environmental noise Prediction and Modelling - (noise mapping)
- Environmental noise pollution problems - Case Studies

Prerequisite
It would be expected that a person who attends Day 2 would have already completed Day 1 training.
